LCM
A practical exam usually comprises of technical work e.g. scales, aural, sight reading, performance of 3 prescribed set pieces and viva voce. Viva voce is an examination component where the candidate responds orally to questions asked by the examiner on different aspects of the pieces played. Questions may be on the historical or musical context of the piece or the candidate’s personal thoughts about the piece performed. There are no prerequisites to the examinations from Grade 1 to 8.
